Race Info



Before the Race: Portable bathrooms will be available at start and finish and on the course, but they are limited.

 

Race Number: Please wear your race number on the front of your shirt to identify yourself before, during and after the race. Only wear the race number issued. Make sure your race number is pinned to the front of your shirt and is not covered by any clothing.

 

Staging: For the 5K and 10K races we will have signs posted for self-staging.  We’re using the honor system so please start in the appropriate group.

 

  • Fast -7 minutes per mile or less
  • Medium – 7 minutes per mile to 10 minutes per mile
  • Recreation – 10 minutes per mile or slower

 

Course Directions: The course will be clearly marked with directional arrows and mile markers. Look for yellow signs with black arrow for course directions.  If you see a fork in the trail with no signs continue on the main trail. Any turns from the main trail will be marked at the turn and within 100 feet past the turn to confirm that you’re on the right trail.

 

Timing Chips: Chips are attached to the back side of your race number, after finishing the race please tear off this portion of the number and deposit it in the receptacles at the finish line.

Parking: Parking is in an open field. Please follow the parking official’s directions.  Due to new legislation there is a need to obtain either a one day or annual Discover Pass. More information about the Discover Pass is located at , or http://discoverpass.wa.gov/ can be purchased at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/.

 

Running attire: Weather can be unpredictable, be sure to dress appropriately.

 

Courtesy Matters: The race course may have other users other than registered racers (bicyclists, equestrians, animals).  Please show courtesy to those users. When in doubt yield to anything that would hurt if you hit it or it hit you.

 

Horse Etiquette: If you encounter a horse, please give a verbal warning to alert the rider. See courtesy note above.

 

Racing protocol: If a runner encounters an injured participant, trail running protocol courtesy dictates the non-injured runner stay with the injured runner or notifies the nearest aid personnel.

 

Trail Safety: Our courses cross the Centennial Trail and roads open to vehicle traffic. If you are about to step onto anything paved please look both ways and proceed with caution.

 

Weather Information: Spring in Spokane can be unpredictable it can be sunny, snowing or raining. The start / finish /awards area will take place on an abandoned airstrip that is open to the weather so come prepared. It can snow, rain, be windy, sunny and hot all in the same day.

 

Other: No picking wildflowers, and no dogs. Thank you.
